On Wednesday, 6th October 2010 some members
from the Regional and National forums came to the
Cumbria People First meeting at the Shakespeare
Centre in Kendal.
There were people there from Liverpool,
Southport, Accrington and from other areas
of the North West.

The aim of the visit was to talk to our members
about the North West Regional Forum and the
National Forum about how it works and what
the set up is of the Partnership Board in their
areas. It turned out that the Partnership Boards
are run differently in each area.
We all then split into groups and talked about
how People First Cumbria can get more involved
and what the problems might be. For example
funding, time and support. It was suggested
that we could ask our Partnership Board to
look into funding members to go to the
North West conference to be held in February
next year.

People First were interested in getting more
involved in the Regional stuff. David and
Andrew are going to attend the next meeting
in Accrington next week to get more information.
