I have recently found out that I had been nominated
Erica was a lady with the label of a Learning
Difficulty. She worked for Dimensions. Sadly Erica
died. An award is given in her memory to someone
who does a lot of good work which makes a
difference in the lives of people with Learning
Difficulties and Autism.

I first found out that Lindsay had nominated me a
few weeks ago. I had no idea though many other
people knew! It came as a shock to me… in the
nicest possible way.
I got down to the final 5 and went to London on 8th
December with Lindsay. The winner was
announced at the Disability Now Conference.
I was given the runner up award. I got a framed
certificate and a cheque for £50 to spend as I wish .
The winner got £3000 for personal development.
People have asked me if I was disappointed that
I didn’t win. The answer to that is no I feel
delighted to be a runner up in fact just to be
nominated means a lot to me.

Congratulations to Lou !
