Our Partners
Cumbria Partnership NHS Trust
We have worked alongside the NHS in cumbria for many years. We are currently helping them to look at the inclusion of the people they support in decision making within the NHS. We attend Green Light and Management Groups and we are running training to help to get people with learning difficulties included in the recruiting of new staff.
Jupiter Quality Limited
We have been working with Jupiter Quality Limited since 2009. We have been lucky enough to have worked jointly on some projects and hope to be able to continue our connection with them. Their work really is about helping people have better lives!
University Of Cumbria
Louise Townson has been working with the University to develop the Degree in Social work for some years now. Lou sits on their steering group giving them hints and directions about what's important to people with learning difficulties. We also host student social workers on placements where we show them what's really important.
West House
We have been working in partnership with West House for over 8 Years. We provide independent support to members of their Management Committee who have a learning difficulty. We have facilitated many development days for them, which are about including people who use their services in planning and developing the organisation.
Adult Social Care Directorate
We have a contract with Cumbria Adult Social Care to provide Advocacy to people who have learning difficulties within Cumbria. We have worked alongside them for over 10 years. We have supported them with the setting up and developing of the Cumbria Partnership Board. Andrew Matthews, our Chief Executive, is the Co Chair of the Partnership Board. We Work with the Commissioning team in selecting providers to support people in Cumbria. We sit on interview panels and help select managers within the Adult sSocial Care.
Manchester University
We have been working with the Manchester University for 4 years now. We guest lecture on the Learning Disability Studies degree course, helping their students to learn about person centred planning, leadership and self advocacy. Our first ever supporter, Dr Rohhss Chapman is the program manager for the university and one of our very good friends.
Glenmore Trust
We are pleased to be working alongside Glenmore on the Voices of the Voiceless project aimed at helping people, living in residential care who don't verbally communicate, to lead richer fuller lives. Operations Manager Denise Jarman sits on the project's stakeholder group.
Walsingham
We have worked with Walsingham over several years. Firstly we developed a training program for over 100 of their staff around rights, choices and advocacy. We are working with them on our pilot project 'Voices of the Voiceless' supporting people with non verbal communication to express themselves. More recently we have started to check the quality of their supported living services.
Adult Education
We have worked with Adult Education to provide our members with the training they want. We have also developed a Person Centred Training program for people who have different abilities. We run this program accross Cumbria.
